She was captured as a young animal in a <strong>snare<\/strong> near Makeni and subsequently resold to a couple who took her to Bo. She lived there for nearly two years until they visited the sanctuary and realized that Somebody deserved a better life \u2014 together with her own kind.  <\/p>\n<p>Upon her arrival, Somebody was already six years old. She had lost a hand due to the snare, but that did not hold her back. On the contrary: despite her disability, she grew into an exceptionally skilled chimpanzee. She is known as one of the <strong>best tool users<\/strong> in the group and even played the lead role in the <em>National Geographic<\/em> documentary <em>Chimp School<\/em> (2016), which shows her &#8216;fishing&#8217; for ants with great precision.   <\/p>\n<p>At the end of 2019, Somebody became a mother to <strong>Someone<\/strong>. His birth was the result of <strong>contraceptive failure<\/strong>, but he was immediately embraced by everyone at the sanctuary \u2014 by both humans and chimpanzees.
